Sure to sponsor Festival of Youth
Sure is to sponsor the Festival of Youth. Taking place in Douglas town centre on Saturday July 21st the carnival-style event, organised by Douglas Development Partnership, will occupy most of the main shopping area, from Duke Street through to Castle Street, bringing together youth-led activities from street dance to rap and graffiti art, culminating in The After Party variety show at Tower House that evening.
For one day only the town centre will be transformed, with Duke Streethosting The Simply Stupid Carnival of Colour with a circus/mardi gras theme, Howard Street the setting for the main performances, Regent Street for BMX and skateboarding and Castle Street turned into Beat Street.
Sure’s Kate Hegarty said: ‘We applaud the efforts being made by Douglas Development Partnership along with so many groups and individuals to bring a sense of vibrancy and excitement to the town centre. As a high-profile retailer in the heart of Douglas Sure is pleased to be supporting this year’s Festival of Youth. We watched with interest the response to last year’s event; clearly this year’s festival promises to be bigger and better than ever and Sure is delighted to be part of what looks set to be an inspired showcase to promote the Island’s wealth of young talent.’
